The rectangular-shaped bag composed of black silk, completed by a frame set with rose-cut diamonds and applied with red, green, pink and black enamel, the thumbpiece set with a carved coral segment depicting a rabbit, measuring approximately 6 by 5½ inches, maker's mark, numbered 26784, French assay marks.

Condition

Light wear due to age; some scratching and abrading to the gold on back of the frame. Enamel is in good condition. The coral rabbit is a deep orange-red color with white mottling near the head and minor surface-reaching inclusions; hairline fracture to the rabbit's back, but not readily apparent. Silk is lightly worn.
