the 7 3/8 inch silvered chapter-ring with Roman and Arabic numeral and signed John Smallwood, LICH. FIELD.,  centering two winding holes, date aperture and aperture for mock pendulum, within foliate spandrels centered by human masks beneath a secondary seconds dial flanked by foliate and mask spandrels, the five-pillar movement with anchor escapement, the backplate signed John Smallwood / Lichfield within an oval reserve amongst foliate engraving; the case with caddy top fitted with a brass bail handle above a molded cornice surmounted by brass ball finials; the arched glazed door with pierced foliate fretwork spandrels, the side panels with later arched glazed panels beneath pierced foliate fretwork panels, raised on a molded plinth with later block feet.  Alterations, restorations, movement associated.

Condition

Clock and case associated; overall the case in good condition; small chips and wear to the top molded edge of the domed top; some age cracks to cornice and with some repaires to veneers of back of cornice; the front door slightly warped; veneer patch beneath later keyhole escutcheon; interior of door possibly re-veneered; the veneer to arch above clock face replaced and veneer beneath clock face replaced; catch to front door later; glass side panels later. right side glass panel with a long crack; right side panel with losses and some restorations to the pierced fretwork panel; veneers to the back panel above and beneath the door possibly replaced; age cracks to the molded apron especially to right side and to back; block feet added; domed top possibly associated.
