the chair with a circular molded upholstered backrest raised on fluted supports and flanked by upholstered armrests terminating in scrolled handholds raised on molded scrolled cabriole armrest supports enclosing a serpentine-fronted upholstered seat with fluted apron raised on square tapering fluted legs headed by roundels and ending in toupee feet.  The table with a rectangular top with satinwood banding within tulipwood crossbanding flanked by canted-rectangular flaps, the frieze fitted with a drawer opposed by a dummy drawer and raised on square tapering legs headed by inlaid canted rectangular panels and ending in casters. 2 pieces.

Condition

Chair: Overall fair condition; stable; good quality, the back legs fluted; the gilding with numerous chips and losses, rubbing and wear throughout; the underside of each seat rail with a plug at join with each leg for reinforcement; some minor old worm to rails. Table: Overall fair restored condition; beautiful figuring to mahogany veneer to top; veneer on mahogany; the top with some heat or water damage to the front and with a light white discoloration; patch to satinwood banding to front left corner; the flaps bowed; underside of right flap routed to correct shrinkage and now with fillets and a black wash; some shrinkage and age cracks to bandings with some very minor lifting and very small patches and infilling; front right and back left hinged support replaced; front right leg with some small losses to the stringing to the edges; some old worm damage to hinged supports; handles replaced; overall with some old marks and scratches.
