This work is in stable condition.
The canvas appears to be lined. There is a hairline network of craquelures throughout, notably in the left quadrants and visible to the naked eye. Examination under UV light reveals intermittent lines of retouching running along the left, right and upper edges. There are two nail-head-sized spots of retouching in the ochre pigment in the lower left quadrant, one above the second ‘r’ in Bérard and the other towards the centre of the lower edge. There are scattered spots of retouching in the blue pigment above the figure’s face towards the upper edge, as well as a 1x2cm stain of retouching above the figure’s knees, a 0.5x0.5cm spot on her thighs, and a 1x1cm spot in the blue pigment on the right edge, parallel with the figure’s knees. .For any additional information please contact the department at the following number +33.1.53.05.52.81
