Condition
The canvas has been relined. There are some very faint spots of craquelure which correspond with the central and lower stretcher bars and a few spots to the figure and to the foreground.
Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque varnish and spots of retouching in the sky and scattered flecks to the building and foreground, notably a v shaped retouching in the lower left quadrant.
