Condition

The board is sound. There are a few minor specks of frame abrasion along the upper half of the left edge. There are expressive markings across the surface, where the artist's scratchings out are visible. Otherwise the work appears in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque varnish which makes the surface difficult to read conclusively; there appear to be a few spots of retouching in places along the right hand edge. Contained in a plain wooden frame with a canvas inset under glass; unexamined out of frame. Please telephone the department on 0207 293 6424 if you have any questions about the present work.
