Catalogue Note

The Frankfurt firm of E. Schürmann & Co. was sufficiently well established by 1881 to be one of the four firms that contributed to the Wedding Service ordered for the future Wilhelm II; elements are preserved at Schloss Huis Doorn and were sold from the Royal Prussian Collections in 2002.  The firm showed at the 1893 World's Fair, and were appointed Court Jewelers in 1903.
