the central cartouche to the mirror painted with cloud born winged putti at play with doves, the rococo foliate cast gilt-bronze cresting with the with G. M mark from the bronze master model.

Condition

Overall in good condition and presentation, the chasing and casting of the gilt-bronze mounts are in keeping with the quality of Graux Marly Freres; the bevelled and shaped mirror plate is original; usual minor areas of inpainting; some craquelure; some tarnishing to the gilt-bronze mounts; areas of losses to lacquer now showing gesso, mostly to the sides of the mirror; the console with inpainting to the legs and losses to the original lacquer and now showing gesso in places; break to left stretcher at join with front left leg; inpainting to the half-sphere of the stretcher with chips and losses to the paint showing the gesso.
