Description

  • gilt-bronze, tulipwood and kingwood
  • height 36 in.; width 4 ft. 7 1/2 in.; depth 22 in.
  • 91.4 cm; 141 cm; 55.9 cm
surmounted by a brèche d'Alep marble top, two long frieze drawers.

Condition

The marble top with an old repaired break to the center now with infilling and with a large reinforced area to the underside to stabilize break; some chips to the front right corner and with some smaller losses to edges; the carcass with small losses and chips to the veneer to the top edge beneath the marble top to the upper left front corner; back corners with small losses to veneers and some infilling; small losse to bottom of top drawer and to top of bottom drawer above lock plate now sanded and polished; some inpainted stress tears to veneers over lines of construction where legs meet the carcass; the gilt-bronze tarnished and with rubbing and wear; overall with some old marks, nicks, scratches and scuffs.
