Catalogue Note
In Early Neo-Classicism in France, Eriksen dates the original model, from which the present pair is based to circa 1770. Examples with rams head were supplied by the bronzier Quentin-Claude Pitoin (circa 1725-1777) to the Prince de Condé in 1771.
