  • 51.5 cm; 36 cm
depicting a scene from the Medici cycle of Henry IV bestowing the governement of France to Marie de Medici in 1610.

Condition

Overall in fair condition; extensive scratches and discoloration to frame; the ivory showing age cracks and dirt to crevices; the male figure and the boy's leg and foot showing natrual yellow staining; some warpage to ivory plaques now showing separations at lines of construction; minor losses in places. Please note this lot contains endangered material which may require a CITES permit to export. Please contact the department with any questions prior to sale.
