Condition
Original canvas. There is one small spot of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, to the extreme upper left corner. Apart from some very fine scattered craquelure, notably to the sky at the upper right, and a fine line of gilt residue at the centre of the extreme upper edge, this work is in very good condition, with rich colours and fine detail, and ready to hang. Held in a decorative, striated, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame, with acanthus leaf motifs.
