Condition

i.) Unexamined out of frame and under glass, apart from a small horizontal tear to the centre of the left edge, the sheet is in good condition. Apart from a few light scrapes to the surface at the upper right, this work is in overall very good condition, with rich, strong colours and a clean surface. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame, under glass. ii.) Unexamined out of frame and under glass, apart from a small diagonal tear (approx. 1.5cm.) to the lower extreme right edge, the sheet is in good condition. Initially a student at the Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, Pascal exhibited a number of landscape and marine gouaches at the Paris Salons of 1876 and 1880.
