  • Vellum
nine leaves (including a bifolium), (a) vast bifolium from a copy of Gregory the Great, Moralia in Job, book 8, each leaf 460mm. by 325mm., Italy, eleventh century; (b) leaf from a liturgical manual with a full page of Beneventan neumes including offices for SS. Augustine and John the Baptist, 239mm. by 180mm., France, eleventh century; (c) two fragments from a breviary with diastematic neumes arranged around two red staves, together 350mm. by 202mm., perhaps France, twelfth century; with 4 other fragments (all Italian, twelfth to fifteenth century), all recovered from bindings and hence somewhat defective
