Condition

STRUCTURE This picture is unlined and in excellent condition with rich colouring. There are no signs of craquelure and the paint surface appears stable. The picture would benefit from a light clean as there is a layer of surface dirt. There are a few minor surface abrasions in the lower right corner. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT There is a small (approximately 1inch) vertical line of retouching in front of the bird in flight - probably to repair a scratch or crack in the paint surface. FRAME This picture is contained in a moulded plaster frame (in good condition).
