Condition

STRUCTURE This picture is unlined an in very good condition. The colours are strong and the paint surface appears stable throughout. There is a small area of craquelure on the old woman's chest. The picture should benefit from a light clean. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT There are minor retouchings on the old woman's blouse and on the jug but these are far from excessive and have been well executed. FRAME This picture is contained in a moulded plaster frame (with some losses to the moldings which could be replaced easily by a frame restorer).
