Condition
STRUCTURE
This picture is unlined an in very good condition. The colours are strong and the paint surface appears stable throughout. There are areas of very fine craquelure, particularly in the darkest areas but this is only visible upon very close inspection. The stretcher bars have pressed against the paint surface from behind.
UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
There are some small areas of retouching; to the girl's cap and to the vine and flecked retouchings on her sleeve and in the background behind her head. These retouchings are not excessive.
FRAME
This picture is contained in a moulded plaster frame (with some losses to the mouldings which could be replaced easily by a frame restorer).
