Catalogue Note

A rare presentation copy. This work includes many fine views in Greece, as well as Turkey and Egypt. According to Brunet only 200 copies were printed. A few copies contain one or two additional plates (28bis and/or plate 48bis), neither of which are called for in the original plate list in this copy, which is presumably an early issue.
