Catalogue Note

A fine pictorial record of Mexico with ''draughtsmanship and lithography of a very high quality'' (Abbey). This work was first published during 1855-57 with 41 tinted views on 38 plates. It was extended in 1864 with additional plates, the map and the plan (as here). Later issues, such as the one offered here, have most of the plates coloured.
