Condition

The canvas is lined and protected beneath a backboard. There is some paint loss at the extreme upper and right edge in numerous places. Further paint loss to towards the centre of the lower edge. There is some minor frame abrasion in places. There is some paint separation in the sky, upper central and left central sections. There is some craquelure in places. The work is dirty and could benefit from a light clean. Ultraviolet light reveals some suggestions of retouching to the right of the lower edge and in the lower left quadrant. Held in a decorative gold painted frame in fair condition.
