Condition
The canvas has been lined. There is a surface scratch just upper left of centre. There are some minor scratches towards the centre of the right edge. There is some frame abrasion and minor paint loss to the extreme edges. The paint is thin in places. There is some craquelure and paint separation in places. There is some paint separation in places and the paint surface is generally quite pitted. Ultraviolet light reveals extensive retouching to the background and extreme edges. Further retouching and infilling to the figures and lower foreground. Unframed. Please note the aforementioned condition and subsequent restoration is due to it being in a fire whilst in the possession of the present owner.
