Condition

UV inspection confirms there has been retouching along the upper edge of the picture in the sky in horizontal lines along frame rebate. A small amount of retouching in central area and a tiny section on the man's hat. There is an area of flaring which may have been a tree prior to the artist's reworking this area as sky The work appears in good stable condition.
