Condition

The paper has discoloured and the colours have slightly faded. The edges are scuffed, notably to the centre of the left edge where there is a small part of the surface missing and there is an old vertical tear approx. 4in. long running along the bottom left edge, otherwise in original condition. Held in a simple plaster gilt frame with canvas inset under glass; unexamined out of frame.

Executed circa 1900, the present work possibly belongs to a series of works for an unpublished book entitled Pastimes of the Londoners.
