Catalogue Note

During his childhood and formative years, Rakoczi used his stepfather's surname Beaumont with which he has signed the present work. It was only in 1938 that he changed his name by deedpoll to his father's surname, Rakoczi. The imagery of the present work relates to the White Stag Group which Rakoczi founded with Kenneth Hall in 1935.
