Condition

Stiff lining. Canvas edges visible from the front. Pressed craquelure visible mainly upper right quadrant other surface irregularities, mainly in the sky including 3 in. crack and a 3 by 1 in. area of paint loss both in upper right quadrant. Under UV: Many fine, tiny touches of repaint throughout. Almost continuous line of repaint probably associated with folding to the canvas extending from tree top at right to above rider's hat, then horizontally across picture and then down vertically to the height of the horse's nose. 5 in. area of repaint above horse's hindquarters addressing a slightly cupped crack and adjacent craquelure.
