Condition
Colour of green painting slightly paler and much more attractive than in the catalogue illustration. The reverse is also painted with scrolls and foliage. Old minor marks, and chips commensurate with age. Evidence of old minor woodworm which appears to be no longer active. Very attractive detail to painted cartouches. Minor retouching to painted decoration. Hairline construction cracks generally as visible from the catalogue photograph which are quite normal and can be left or filled. Some minor flaking to painted decoration which is normal with usage, especially to the reverse, however the door on the right side of the photograph has suffered more flaking to the reverse which can easily be touched up. It is not just the arched cresting of the outer frame which is later but also the sides but as these are in three separate pieces they do not need to be utilised if the doors are inset somewhere else. A beautiful pair of doors in overall good condition.
