- Approximately 197 by 122cm., 6ft. 5in. by 4ft.
Condition
Fringes trimmed at both ends. Some loss to outer guard stripe. Discreet blanket stitch overlocking at both ends. Both sides later overcast. Uneven sides. Pile varies from 3mm and lower, down to knot bar in areas. Scattered areas of moth damage (for example lozenge in bottom left border area to blue area of pile, approx. 2.5cm. x 2.5cm) and moth hole in area of cream ground of main field, top right corner, and areas of oxidisation (to cerise coloured areas), and scattered areas of wear generally, and especially along edges. Area centre bottom section, where warp threads visible and knot bars damaged and an area approx. 4cm. x 3cm., top right pendant blue scroll, which is worn to the knot bar. There is a repaired area to top left edge worked in brown wool (approx. 9.5cm. x 3cm), clearly visible in the photograph.
