Description
- Tommaso Salini, called Mao
- a Boy eating a loaf of bread with a cat
- oil on canvas
Condition
The painting is very slightly cooler in tone than the catalogue illustartion suggests. The canvas has a modern and effective relining. The paint surface is secure and clean with fine craquelure. The paint surface is abraded in some of the darker colours, for example in the left part of the cat. Inspcetion under UV light reveals some scattered retouchings, and some more concentrated repaint along the very edges of the canvas due, presumambly to old frame abrasion.
Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame wchi is in fair condition but which has suffered some knocks.
