Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas has been relined. PAINT SURFACE The paint surface is in good overall condition, ready to hang. There are areas in the sky where the paint is slightly thin. ULTRAVIOLET UV light reveals scattered retouching in the sky and some further retouching to the horse and foreground. There is a evidence of a small T-shaped tear to the cloud, upper centre - this has been carefully restored and is invisible to the naked eye. FRAME Under glass and held in a plaster gilt frame in fair condition; unexamined out of frame.
