Rilievo frammentario in marmo bianco

There is wear, weathering and some dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is a large hole with some losses around it to the centre and there are further minor chips throughout. There are repaired fissures running through the centre and from the bottom left to the top right. All inserts are lost. Both left corners have losses. There are some naturally occurring stable fissures to the surface. C’è alcune consumazione e sporcizia superficiale, consistente con l’età dell’opera. C’è un buco grande con alcune mancanze intorno verso il centro e ci sono ulteriori schieggiature per tutto. Ci sono fenditure tra il centro e dalla sinistra in basso e la destra in alto. Mancano tutti gli inserti. Tutti e due gli angoli hanno mancanze. Ci sono alcune stabile fenditure al superficio che occorono naturalmente.

Questo rilievo frammentario centrato da un tondo con volute gotiche, può essere confrontato, stilisticamente, con alcuni frammenti architettonici  in Veneto. Si paragoni questo rilievo con il capitello del Museo di Berlino datato al secolo XII e illustrato da Volbach.

This fragmentary relief centred by a roundel with Gothic tracery, the spandrels with symbols of evangelists, can be compared stylistically  with architectural fragments from the Veneto.  Compare with the marble capital dated to the 12th century in the Berlin museum illustrated by Volbach.
