BIBLIOGRAFIA DI RIFERIMENTO
M. Lisner, Holzkruzifixe in Florenz und in der Toskana, Monaco 1970, figg. 9-13;

The present finely carved corpus can be closely compared with the the work of Giovanni Pisano and his workshop of the early fourteenth century.  Compare in particular the treatment to the hair and the perizonium, intricately carved with deep folds in the round, with the wood corpus in the Opera del Duomo Siena illustrated by Lisner.
