in three registers showing a Deisis of St Catherine and St Nicholas, the base with Archangel Michael and the mounted warriors George and Dimitri, the image in the centre with a topographical view of Mount Sinai with Moses loosening his sandals before an apparition of the Burning Bush enclosing an image of the Virgin, inscribed Have compassion on your servant the Monk Gerasimos, O, nature (Lord) that has compassion on all mortals; dated Sinai 1780 and signed with initials O.K.K
