the Mother of God Enthroned in Paradise amid angels glorifying her; in the background a white multi-dome church, a symbol of the Heavenly Jerusalem, with the garden of Eden around it; at the foot of the throne the famous St John of Damascus, holding an open scroll with the text of the hymn 'In Thee Rejoice' in his hands; down below a crowd of people praising the Holy Virgin
Condition
There are areas of repainting to the icon, in particular to the central upper right part, corners and elsewhere. The borders underneath the oklad have also been repainted. The back of the panel is covered with red velvet.
