Catalogue Note
After studying drawing in his native town of Vilna (Vilnius), Leopold Sinaeff-Bernstein moved at the age of fourteen to Paris where he continued his artistic education with Aimé-Jules Dalou specialising in sculpture. In 1890, he exhibited at the Salon Elyseé to wide acclaim and gained commissions to create bronze and marble busts of prominent figures.
