Description

  • width: 8.8cm, 3 1/2 in.
rounded rectangular, the lid inset with a Geneva plaque painted with cloud-born putti, one playing a lute, the other a bell, within chased fruit and foliage, the sides and base with banded and concentric engine-turning, the rim numbered 4646, later control marks

Condition

The chasing remains crisp. The lid pins have been out; weight has been added to the lid; the plaque, although contemporary with the box, has been associated to it, with the gold band border added. The engine-turned surfaces possibly lacking their previous enamel.
