Samuel Polyakov (1837 - 1888) was a great railway entrepreneur; coming from a poor background he made his fortune in the construction of the railways in Russia, including Kozlovo-Voronezhsko-Rostovskaya and Kursko-Kharkovo-Azovskaya.
