Description

  • width of tray: 46.2cm, 18 1/4 in.; height of tea pot: 13.5cm, 5 1/4 in.
comprising: tray, kettle on stand with burner, coffee pot, tea pot, covered sugar bowl, creamer, waste bowl, two egg cups and spoons, salt, sugar tongs, lemon fork and knife, engraved with initials JLH below a baron's crown, 84 standard, some pieces struck with workmaster's initials M.G (Cyrillic), presumably for Mikhail Grachev, French control marks, in original fitted wood case, with two associated spoons, George Adams, London, 1879

Condition

Most pieces are in excellent condition. The salt cellar is badly damaged: dented and chewed (?!). The others with only very minor surface scratches from occasional use. The wood case in good order with time wear.
