Catalogue Note
The V. E. Petrov Vodka and Liquor Distillery was founded by Mikhail Samsonov in 1863 in Saint-Petersburg on Zagorodny prospect, 42. Employing around three hundred workers, the distillery produced wines, liqueurs and vodkas from rectified spirit for which it was awarded numerous diplomas of excellence and medals at national and international fairs.
The offered set was presented to Mikhail Samsonov by his grateful colleagues, their signatures engraved on the bratina and each of the charki.
