Catalogue Note

Goncharova scholars Anthony Parton and Mary Chamot state that although this work bears the date 1912, it was most probably executed circa 1956-60 when Gontcharova painted a series of abstract compositions inspired by the themes of space and the cosmos. The present lot will be included in Anthony Parton's forthcoming monograph titled Natalia Goncharova: Art & Design.
