Description

  • diameter: 2.4cm, 7/8 in.; length: 2.3cm, 7/8 in.
the first formed as heavy gold discs, the reverse dated 17 April 1867, the second pair formed as scarabs, both unmarked

Condition

Both pair in excellent condition with very minor surface wear.

Catalogue Note

On 17 April 1867, to mark the occasion of the coming-of-age of Grand Duke Vladimir, a state assembly was held in St George's Hall of the Winter Palace.  During the ceremony, under the Dragoon Guards' standard, Vladimir Alexandrovich took the Oath of Allegiance to the Emperor.
