Description

  • Jasper Johns
  • Fool's House (ULAE 109)
  • sheet 1110 by 740 mm 43 3/4 by 29 1/4 in
Lithograph printed in colors, 1972, signed in pencil, dated and numbered 22/67, framed

Condition

The print is in good condition overall. There are a few tiny fox marks in the upper margin. The heavy paper is inherently irregular along the edges - what appears as a paper loss at upper right is the deckle of the sheet and what appear to be printer's creases in the margins (most noticeably at right) are the overlapping of paper fibers.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

On Angoumois paper, with full margins, published by Gemini G.E.L., and with their blindstamp.
