the arched back with egg and dart detail and foliate motifs, re-construction and some later elements
Provenance
Probably acquired by William Courtenay, 10th Earl of Devon (1777-1859) for his antiquarian alterations to the Dining Hall and thence by descent.

Condition
Pretty carving. Losses and repairs to cresting. Splits with fillet to back panel. Arms probably associated. Seat with typical separation and some loose pegging. Some old fragmenting on front legs. Old feet re-tipped and with replaced stretchers. The right front foot with recent front timber loss. 123cm. high overall, 65cm. wide overall, 59cm. deep overall.
