Catalogue Note
'Photograph Studio, Mendocino City' was included in the annual San Francisco Society of Women Artists exhibition in 1947. The SFWA began in the 1880s as the Sketch Club, a group of women artists who met to view and critique each other's work. The name was changed in 1925 and became the non-profit organization that continues today. The annual SFWA exhibitions were held into the 1980s.
