Gift of the photographer to the present owner, when students together at the Rhode Island School of Design in the 1970s

Condition

This early contact print, on medium-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. The edges are slightly rubbed, and the corners are bumped. There are soft creases in the exposed margins which do not affect the print.

Catalogue Note

The crumpled broadsheet taped to the door of the refrigerator advertises Francesca Woodman's first solo exhibition, in 1976, at the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.  Woodman was a student at the school in 1973-74.
