Description
- Ansel Adams
- 'THE TETONS AND THE SNAKE RIVER, GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, WYO.'
mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, a Carmel studio stamp on the reverse, framed, 1942, printed in August 1978 (This Is the American Earth, p. 15; 400 Photographs, cover and p. 205)
Condition
This print is in generally good to very good condition. Visible in the sky area of the image are 6 small deposits of original retouching that appear to have turned a greenish hue. On the mount, the ½-inch area directly surrounding the print has yellowed. The mat is hinged to the upper mount edge with linen tape.
The Carmel stamp on the reverse is not recorded in Karen Haas's and Rebecca Senf's book, 'Ansel Adams in the Lane Collection.' Notations within the stamp on the reverse of the mount indicate that this print was made in August 1978.
