- 'JUPITER PORTFOLIO'
(New York: Light Gallery, 1975), a portfolio of 12 photographs, each signed in the margin, mounted, 1947-71, printed in 1975. Folio, linen folding box, no. 60 in an edition of 100
Provenance
Acquired by the present owner from The Gallery of Photographic Arts, Westlake, Ohio, 1974
Condition
The following images are titled and dated in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse of the mount: Nude Foot, Two Barns, Windowsill Daydreaming, Peeled Paint, Beginnings, Ritutal Stones, Ivy, and Navigation Markers.
The prints and printed matter are in generally excellent condition. There is light soiling on the overmat and/or reverse of the mount for all. The following photographs are age-darkened at the periphery of the overmat and/or reverse of mount: Windowsill Daydreaming, Peeled Paint, Beginnings, and Ivy. Additional information regarding condition follows:
Birdlime and Surf - There are tiny deposits of indeterminate nature that do not affect the image on the lower mount margin.
Windowsill Daydreaming - In raking light, a very small, partial fingerprint is barely visible at the upper left edge.
Beginnings - The photograph is lifting from the mount in the lower left corner.
Ivy - The mount corners are bumped, and the lower left corner of the mount and overmat are creased. The reverse of the mount is more visibly soiled than the others.
Two Barns - A tiny red deposit of indeterminate nature is visible in the lower margin. Visible in raking light is a pinpoint indentation that does not break the emulsion in the lower left quadrant.
The folio case is in generally good condition. There is slight soiling and rubbing throughout. The extremities are lightly bumped and rubbed.
