2 vintage silver prints, each bearing a variety of Weegee studio stamps in ink on the reverse, and one annotated by Weegee, also on the reverse.

Literature

Stettner, Louis, Weegee the Famous, Knopf, New York, 1977, pp. 142, 162.

Condition

Each print stressed and marked in ways entirely consistent with prints by Weegee as they are customarily seen, although the present pair are in remarkable condition compared to many. In addtion, however, one print has near its upper edge on the image surface some adherent tissue which could beneficially be professionally removed. The stamps are: on Audience, 1956, 'Credit Weegee the Famous' and 'Weegee, 451 West 47th Street'; and the same two on Harlem Concert Audience, 1948, with the addition of a further stamp, 'Arthur Fellig, 5 Centre Market Place, New York City'.
