Condition

Overall the condition of the pyx is good. There is wear and some minor dirt consistent with age. There is wear to the gilding throughout and there are losses and minor wear to the enamel throughout. There are some slight nicks to the edges of the drum and lid and a slight, stable fissure to the cross. The hinge is slightly loose. The hasp has a part missing. The joint of the drum is visible under the hasp. The bottom plate was possibly replaced.
