  • champlevé enamelled and partially-gilt copper, numbered on the underside of the lid: 310 in white paint and No 422 in black ink; numbered on the underside: 81454 in red ink

Condition

Overall the condition of the incense burner is good. There is wear and some minor dirt to the surface consistent with age and handling. There is some slight bending to the copper, particularly to the lid. Where the lid has bent there is an area of loss to the enamel. The pin of the hinge may have been replaced. There are other small losses to the enamel. There is a small area of greening where the foot joins the vessel.
