Description
- candlestick with three captives
- bronze
- Italian, Padua, circa 1540
Condition
Overall the condition of the bronze is very good. There is some minor wear and dirt consistent with age. The candlestick consists of three seperately cast parts, the joints of which are slightly loose. There are a few minor fissures to the base plate. Two small cracks run from the rim and the centre of the base plate. A loose copper rim on the underside indicates the candlestick might have been on top of a base or vessel. There is greening to the underside.
